The Amistad Research Center and Entergy New Orleans recently hosted a screening of the award-winning motion picture “Selma,” with a reception afterwards at the Plimsoll Club in the Westin New Orleans Canal Place Hotel.

On view was artwork by Richard C. Thomas that focused on “Selma” and the Civil Rights movement.

The event also honored local civil rights activists Don C. Hubbard and the late Dr. Rudy Lombard. Judge Edwin Lombard spoke on behalf of his legendary brother, who succumbed to cancer last December.

Attorney Kim Boyles serves as president of the Amistand Research Center Board of Directors.
