AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana Gets New Market President
AmeriHealth Caritas, a national leader in Medicaid managed care and other health care solutions for those most in need, announced leadership changes for its Medicaid plans in South Carolina and Louisiana.
Kyle Viator, currently director of plan operations and administration for AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana, has been appointed market president. He is succeeding Rebecca Engelman, who is returning to Select Health of South Carolina to become its market president.
Viator joined AmeriHealth Caritas in June 2014 after a 13-year career with multiple Louisiana health care organizations. His experience includes 10 years at the state’s Department of Health and Hospitals, many of them working directly on the state’s Medicaid and CHIP programs.
Viator received both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Louisiana State University.
“Kyle’s expertise in Louisiana’s health care marketplace will be a great asset as we look to help more Louisianans get the care they need to become healthy and stay well,” said Jernigan. “We are pleased to have Kyle continue our efforts to build a healthier Louisiana.”
“I am excited to take on this new professional challenge,” said Viator. “While AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana has accomplished a lot in its first three years, many exciting opportunities remain to help transform lives in this state. I will strive to help Louisianans seize those opportunities this year and in the years to come.”
