Billionaire and hedge fund manager from Texas, John D. Arnold, who was once a force behind Enron Corp., retired at age 38. Arnold has donated millions nationally to roll back the costs of public employee pensions.

John and his wife formed the John and Laura Arnold Foundation. Partnering with New Schools for New Orleans and the Charter School Growth Fund, the Laura and John Arnold Foundation invested $25 million to help create and expand charter schools in New Orleans for five years.

John Arnold has also sat on the board of The New Teacher Project, along with former Louisiana state Superintendent, Paul Pastorek, and Wendy Kopp, the founder of Teacher for America.

From 2011 through 2013, according to 990 tax returns, the Laura and John Arnold Foundation donated to the following pro-charter entities.
