The Regional Transit Authority (RTA) in New Orleans will hold a series of Open Houses throughout the community beginning Monday, July 11 – Friday, July 18 to discuss a proposal to optimize bus and streetcar service routes.
On July 11, an open house will take from 7:30 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. at Rampart and Canal and at 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at St. Jude Community Center, 400 N. Rampart Street.
On July 12, open houses will be held at 7:30 a.m. at St. Claude and Elysian Fields and at 6:30 p.m. at the Rosa Keller Branch Library, 4300 S. Broad Ave.
On July 13, open houses will be held 7:30 a.m. at Union Passenger Terminal and at 6:30 p.m. at the main branch of the New Orleans Public Library, 219 Loyola Ave.
On July 14, open houses will be held 7:30 a.m. at Canal at Peters/Tchoupitoulas and at 6:30 p.m. at the Baptist Theological Seminary, 3939 Gentilly Blvd.
On July 18, an open house will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Branch Library, 1611 Caffin Ave.
The official Public Hearing will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 19 in the board room at RTA, 2817 Canal St.
The Rider Alert containing a summary of all proposed changes is attached, and can be viewed online now at www.norta.com. Copies of proposed timetables and route maps, as well as the Social Equity Analysis Report reviewing these proposed service changes will be available the week of Monday, July 11 for public review online at www.norta.comor at RTA’s Main Office.
Riders are encouraged to attend these open houses and the July 19th public hearing to comment on the proposed service changes. Comments on the proposed plan may also be submitted via email at servicechange@norta.com, called into our Rideline at 504-248-3900 or faxed to 504-827-8423.
Comments should be received by RTA no later than 5:00 p.m. July 25, 2016.
