From a press release

The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority (RTA) will host a public meeting from 6:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 20  in the Federal City – Algiers Auditorium, 2485 Guadalcanal St. The meeting is being held to present the design and to gather public input on the new Canal Street Ferry Terminal.

The redesign of the Canal Street Ferry Terminal, located at Canal Street and the Mississippi River, is expected to generate more public access to the river and increased connectivity between modes of public transportation.

The state-of-the-art facility will feature new high-speed catamaranstyle ferryboats designed to transport over 140 passengers each. The new terminal will be ADA accessible and accommodate bicycles and powered scooters.

All interested citizens are encouraged to attend the public meeting. For more information, please visit www.norta.com, follow RTA on Facebook & Twitter @NewOrleansRTA, or call the Customer Care Rideline at 504-248-3900.
