100 Black Men, National Urban League Partnership to Bring The Made Man Celebrity Red Carpet Reception & Tornado Relief Charity Drive to New Orleans

Blueprint Global Group in collaboration with 100 Black Men of America Inc., 100 Black  Men of New Orleans, Black Enterprise Magazine, National Urban League and Upscale Magazine will present The Made Man Red Carpet Honoree Reception and Tornado Relief Charity Drive at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at Dooky Chase Restaurant.  The reception is a platform to recognize honorees for their leadership, philanthropy, contributions to community empowerment, and social consciousness.

Speakers for the evening include National Urban League President & CEO Marc Morial; Bernard Bronner, president, Bronner Brothers Inc.; Marvin Dickerson, vice chairman of 100 Black Men of America, Inc.; and  Jonathan Wilson, president of 100 Black Men Metropolitan New Orleans Chapter.

The Made Man Honoree Reception celebrates African American male celebrities and leaders from varied backgrounds, including politics, business, sports, media and entertainment, while also providing an opportunity to empower the underserved by suiting them for success through the Charity Suit Drive. And in light of the recent tornadoes, The Made Man and partners are also conduction a Tornado Relief Initiative drive to collect items such as canned goods, school supplies to benefit the New Orleans community.

Locally, Liberty Bank has partnered with the Made Man to assist with tornado disaster relief.

Todd McDonald, vice president for Liberty Bank adds, “This is why it was important for Liberty Bank and 100 Black Men of New Orleans to partner with The Made Man Awards and raise necessities for those affected by the recent tornadoes.

The Tornado Relief Drive will solicit the honorees and partners to volunteer their time and donate resources to assist underserved communities. Donations will be collected during the reception, and can be dropped off at all Liberty Banks in New Orleans and the office of The 100 Black Men Metropolitan New Orleans to be disbursed to local organizations in the city.

The Made Man is a national corporate and community initiative created to highlight the philanthropy and achievements of African American men who have demonstrated significant contributions socially and philanthropically in service to the community.

The Made Man is a day-long series of events that include the honoree reception, a day-time youth outreach program, a community empowerment mentoring component of the initiative that connects the honorees with speaking opportunities at local high schools. Two locals schools attached to this outreach effort are the Samuel J. Green Charter School and the Pierre A. Capdau School of New Orleans.

This event is open to the public. All donations for the tornado relief can delivered to The Made Man event, all Liberty Banks in the New Orleans area and the 100 Black Men New Orleans office.
