Le Sanctuary Book Club provides book scholarships to female high school seniors that will attend a college in Louisiana. To date, the organization has awarded over 50 scholarships to deserving college-bound students. Almost 12 years ago when Hurricane Katrina touched down, Angela Young, president of the book club, started this program.
“It’s truly an honor and privilege to have entertainment mogul Master P support Le Sanctuary Book Club’s efforts to give back and raise awareness in the community,” Young says. “We appreciate Master P and other (high-profile individuals) who associate themselves with our efforts.”
With 25 years in the entertainment industry, Master P is dedicated to continue to find ways to invest in the New Orleans community and city that has taught him the grit, commitment and motivation necessary to live a fulfilled life.
“It is extremely important to be a part of building a stronger New Orleans,” Master P says. “Being from the Calliope Projects, life wasn’t always easy, I understood at a young age how imperative education and experiences were for life choices. I am happy to be involved with Le Sanctuary Book Club, the work they do is essential for a healthy, happy and productive lifestyle.”
