There are two candidates actively campaigning to determine who will represent District D on the New Orleans City Council.
The incumbent, Councilman Jared Brossett, faces competition from political newcomer Joel Jackson.

District D includes Gentilly, the upper Ninth Ward, the upper entrance of New Orleans east, parts of Tremé, as well as the Bywater and Lakeview areas.
