Councilwoman Guidry will provide update on 2016’s Marijuana Reform Ordinance

The New Orleans City Council Criminal Justice Committee will meet at 2 p.m. Tuesday (March 27) in the New Orleans City Council Chambers, 1300 Perdido St., to discuss the LEAD Program, a pre-booking diversion program piloted in the NOPD’s 8th District.

LEAD allows officers to connect individuals to a social worker and needed services, as an alternative to arresting them for low-level municipal offenses.

Councilwoman Susan G. Guidry will also provide an update on the Marijuana Reform Ordinance passed by the City Council on March 17, 2016.

The committee meeting is opened to the public. A complete list of presenters and topics are listed on the attached agenda.
