The National U.S. Black Chambers, Inc. (USBC), honored the New Orleans Regional Black Chamber of Commerce as Chamber of the Year at the Gaylord National Resort in Oxon Hill, MD during the 10th annual US Black Chambers Inc. National Conference held in August.

“In honor of Chamber excellence, we are pleased to recognize the New Orleans Regional Black Chamber of Commerce as our 2019 Chamber of the Year,” said Ron Busby, President & CEO, U.S. Black Chambers. “NORBCC has proved to be a powerful example of strengthening Black-owned businesses throughout New Orleans while also adding value to the national ecosystem of Black-owned businesses; and for that we thank you and honor you as our Chamber of the Year.”

20 New Orleans business and political leaders attended the 10th Annual US Black Chambers Inc. National Conference.

“As our mission continues to gain momentum, it is vital that we ensure minority businesses, which have always been an instrumental part of the local New Orleans economy, have the opportunity to grow and develop to and beyond scale,” says NORBCC Executive Director Kelisha Garrett.

The New Orleans Regional Black Chamber of Commerce has worked to empower and sustain the African-American business community through entrepreneurship and economic activity in the greater New Orleans region and global economy. The New Orleans Regional Black Chamber of Commerce is focused on promoting inclusivity and awareness of the opportunities for small and emerging minority-owned businesses within the 10-parish region of Orleans, Jefferson, St. Tammany, Tangipahoa, St. Bernard, Washington, St. John, St. James, St. Charles, and Plaquemine.

Through outreach efforts and programs, the organization works to connect the local business community by communicating policy updates, contracting opportunities, financial assistance, and educational courses focused on strengthening the viability of the minority business community in the metro areas.
