Kicking off Black History Month, The New Orleans Jazz Orchestra will host a special concert celebrating Black History Month with a Tribute to Oretha Castle Haley featuring Renee Neufville, the singer and songer-writer of the hit 90’s duo, Zhane.

She will use her signature sound to pay homage the women of the civil rights movement that paved the women across the world.

Neufville will be singing all originals old, familiar, and brand new, and will introduce the newest tribute “Something to Believe (for Roy)” in memory of the late Roy Hargrove.

The evening will also include spoken word pieces dedicated to women within the civil rights movement throughout the concert. These artistic expressions will be written and performed by young adult women participating in NOJO’s Black History Month writing workshop.
