Rev. Gregory Manning with Justice and Beyond will hold a social distancing press event at 11 a.m. Friday (April 24) across from City Hall to demand help for the dozens of homeless at Duncan Plaza who still there during this quarantine period.

Rev. Manning will also spend Friday night sleeping outside Duncan Plaza to bring more attention to this cause.

Rev. Manning is asking the city to find long term housing for all homeless people and to Immediately improve the conditions at and around Duncan Plaza for the safety of those there with nowhere to go.

Other groups that have pledged their support, but will not be in attendance to ensure social distancing is maintained includes: Broadmoor Community Church, the Greater New Orleans Housing Association, the Deep South Center for Environmental Justice, the Sierra Club, the New Orleans Citizens Response Team, A Community Voice, the Greater New Orleans Interfaith Climate Coalition, 350 New Orleans and Extinction Rebellion New Orleans.
