Local businesses, community leaders and elected officials will come together to provide water, masks, and treats to 250 families at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 23, in New Orleans East at Joe Brown Park, 5601 Read Blvd.

District E Councilwoman Cyndi Nguyen said she is grateful to the many sponsors, organizers, and contributors who helped make this event possible, which include New Beginnings Behavioral & Family Services, Urban Systems, Inc, Morrow’s Restaurant, state Rep. Jason Hughes (D-100), retired Criminal District Court Judge Arthur Hunter, Civil District Court Judge Nicole Sheppard, and District B Councilman Jay Banks.

Several local businessowners and indviduals have also contributed to the upcoming event, including Dip Wit It, Shop with Tene, Karanja Lipscomb, Barber, Mynne Chocolates, D.C. Beautification Landscaping, Pernell Vending, LLC, Promotions For You!, McCray Communications, educator and community activist Dr. Eric Jones, and Kalija Lipscomb.
