District C Councilwoman Kristin Gisleson Palmer, along with community partners, Second Harvest Food Bank, and Culture Aid NOLA, announced this week’s drive-thru food pantry schedule for residents impacted by COVID-19.

Food distributions will take place on Friday, March 12, in Algiers, and Saturday, March 13, in Treme. Also, on Sunday, March 14, the Algiers Irish Rebels and Friendship Club, Algiers Shamrock Society, and Ski’s Wild Irish Clan will provide food boxes with cabbage, potatoes, and other produce in lew of their annual “Algiers Friendship Day” block party and Irish Channel Parade.

Documentation is not required to receive a food pantry box, and walk-ups are welcomed.

Volunteers are also needed to continue emergency food distribution sites. To assist, call (504) 658-1030 between Monday – Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
