Dillard University’s Office of Community and Church Relations has created a health outreach program with local churches and DePaul Community Health Centers to address health-related questions about COVID-19 and to administer Pfizer vaccinations in underserved communities across New Orleans.
Several churches have partnered with Dillard to offer their locations as vaccination sites in an effort to make the vaccines more accessible to residents with transportation challenges. This exciting new partnership will address local disparities by bringing critical health services to the city’s most vulnerable populations. Dillard will continue to lead this outreach and provide services to residents throughout the year.
“I’m extremely grateful to our partners at Dillard, DePaul, and all the participating faith-based leaders for stepping up to provide this much-needed support to those in our community who need it most,” said District “D” Councilmember Jared C. Brossett. “We still have a long way to go on the road to recovery from COVID-19, but together we can and will get to the light at the end of the tunnel.”
