City officials are encouraging residents to take part in a community meeting tonight to learn about the upcoming $4.5 million Lake Vista Group B road work project scheduled to begin later in June and will take approximately 12 months to complete.
Residents can find out more about the project at a pre-construction community meeting from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today (Thursday, June. 10) via Webex. Work on the Lake Vista project will include full-depth reconstruction (replacement of the roadway and underground water, sewer, and drainage lines) along Spanish Fort Boulevard, Jay Street, and Hawk Street.
RoadworkNOLA is a joint project of the Department of Public Works (DPW) and Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans (SWBNO) to restore our damaged infrastructure. Using local and federal funds, the $2.3 billion program includes nearly 200 individual projects that impact neighborhoods across the city. Since May 2018, the Department of Public Works has completed 94 projects with an estimated value of $260M. Currently, 65 projects are under construction with an estimated value of $602M. |
