The Dryades YMCA New Orleans Boards of Directors recently announced the appointment of Dr. Samuel Odom as Interim Chief Executive Officer.

Dr. Odom has been an invested member of the Dryades YMCA Board of Directors since 2019 and has acted as the Chief Point of Contact for the organization’s administration and staff during the CEO vacancy.

Dr. Odom earned a doctoral degree in counseling from the Capella University Harold Abel School of Social and Behavioral Sciences, MSW in APO, health & mental health from Southern University at New Orleans and a BA in philosophy and religion from Dillard University. He is a 24-year veteran leader, clinician, and military social work scholar in the field of combat social work.

“We are excited that Dr. Odom has agreed to shift from his board service and work temporarily in this capacity as we continue implementing our transition plan to find a permanent executive staff leader,” said Barbara Lacen-Keller, chairwoman of the Dryades YMCA Board of Directors. “The Dryades YMCA New Orleans is devoted more than ever to our mission of helping people develop character, competence, and commitment to build strong families in a thriving community.”
