The New Orleans Tourism and Cultural Fund (NOTCF) recently announced a partnership with the Office of Workforce Development (OWD) to provide grant assistance at the JOB1 Career Center.

NOTCF and the Office of Workforce Development will utilize office space at the JOB1 Career Center and provide technical assistance to cultural industries and culture bearers seeking grant resources from NOTCF.

The operating hours for the NOTCF program at the JOB1 Center are Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. With this partnership, NOTCF overall seeks to serve the cultural economy in the areas of economic opportunities, workforce development, affordable housing, healthcare and digital infrastructure.

The goal of the partnership is to identify and coordinate a myriad of workforce development resources to create a seamless, customer-friendly system that addresses the needs of New Orleans job seekers by offering a variety of services that maximize customer opportunity, participation and satisfaction. NOTCF will provide services through the NOTCF Program and refer clients to JOB1 for wraparound services.

“NOTCF was created with a specific focus on supporting the people and institutions that have sustained our unique culture and placed New Orleans on the map as a premier destination location in the world,” said Lisa Alexis, President and CEO of NOTCF. “This partnership with the Office of Workforce Development is another example of how we seek to continue assisting and supporting our culture bearers and cultural industries throughout the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.”
