Residents that want to vote in the upcoming Nov. 13 election have until next Wednesday (Oct. 13) to register by mail or in person.

While the deadline to register to vote in person or by mail is Oct. 13, the deadline to register to vote through the GeauxVote Online Registration System is Oct. 23.

New Orleans voters will head to the polls on Nov. 13 to choose a new mayor, assessor, sheriff, as well as at-large and district council members. Voters in state House District 102 will also be selecting a new representative to replace state senator Gary Carter.

Early voting takes place Oct. 30 through Nov. 6 (excluding Sunday, Oct. 31) from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m.

The deadline to request an absentee ballot is by 4:30 p.m. Nov. 9. Voters can request an absentee ballot online through the state’s voter portal or at their local Registrar of Voters Office. And the deadline for a registrar of voters to receive an absentee ballot (other than military and overseas voters) is by 4:30 p.m. Nov. 12.

Additionally, voters across the state will decide on four constitutional amendments including one that would consolidate the collection of all sales and use tax under a state commission, taking control of that function away from local governments.
