The City of New Orleans today (Monday, Mar. 15) announced that the Mayor’s Office of Housing Policy and Community Development (OCD) will host a Community Based Rental Assistance Event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 16 and 17. The outreach event will take place at Joe W. Brown Park Recreational Center located at 5601 Read Blvd. in New Orleans East.
The event is open to current applicants of the rental assistance program who have not yet received payments. OCD staff will be on hand to answer questions and review documentation for rental and utility assistance applications.
Applicants must provide a form of identification, documentation indicating the amount of past-due rent, and proof of address and current income. Translators and legal assistance will also be available.
The City of New Orleans has provided more than $45 million in emergency rental and utility assistance to approximately 14,000 households since the beginning of the pandemic.
