The New Orleans Regional Transit Authority announced the agency will host a second round of public informational meetings for its Bus Rapid Transit Study project.

Three virtual, one–hour meetings will be held via Zoom at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21; at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 24, and at noon Wednesday, May 25.

Bus Rapid Transit is a high-quality public transportation system that operates like a rail service using buses on a separate or dedicated transit lane. The RTA is studying the region’s first BRT network connecting New Orleans East and the Westbank to more than 40,000 downtown jobs.

The RTA has also launched an online survey on its website for public feedback on route options. The survey is available through Friday, May 27, 2022.  Once the route is selected, and the study is complete, the RTA is eligible to apply for federal funding to build the BRT project.

Members of the public are invited to attend the virtual meetings, where RTA representatives and project consultants will provide background information on the study, discuss the next steps, answer questions, and take public comments related to the planning and design of the BRT system.
