Voters in state House District 93 have will have until Saturday, Feb. 11 to vote early in the race to decide who will replace state Sen. Royce Duplessis, whose election last fall to the District 5 Senate seat triggered the special election, which will take place Saturday, Feb. 18, with polls open from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

The Candidates and District 93
Five Democrats and one Republican are vying for the District 93 seat, including Democrats, Morgan Clevenger, Steven Kennedy, Alonzo Knox, Sibil Richardson and Naj Wallace, and lone Republican, Matthew Hill.
With new boundaries that became effective in January, District 93 is more diverse than it once was and stretches back from the river to include areas of both Uptown and Downtown New Orleans, including part of the Garden District, the Irish Channel Central City, the Warehouse District, Treme, the French Quarter, and the CBD. It also stretches away from the Mississippi River to include parts of the 7th and 8th wards.
Other Important Deadlines
The deadline to request an absentee ballot is Feb. 14 by 4:30 p.m (except for military and overseas voters). The the registrar of voters must receive a voter’s absentee ballot by 4:30 p.m. Feb. 17.
