HomeFest 2025 Brings Two Days of Culture, Commerce & Celebration to Bayou Road

The 11th Annual HomeFest, a vibrant celebration of Black culture, creativity, and commerce rooted in the heart of Bayou Road, returns October 17–18, transforming the oldest thoroughfare in the city into a hub of music, food, culture, and community. a

Founded in 2013 by Community Book Center, it began as a neighborhood festival uplifting local entrepreneurs, artists, and culture bearers while connecting our community to critical resources.

In partnership with the Bayou Road Business Association, Black Bayou, and Broad Community Connections, HomeFest honors Bayou Road’s legacy as New Orleans’ Black Wall Street—a corridor built by Free People of Color and sustained through generations of resistance and entrepreneurship.

Each year, this joyful, free, all-ages festival showcases Black-owned businesses, musicians, authors, and artists.

Hosted on the 2400 and 2500 blocks of Bayou Road, the free two-day festival showcases local talent, small businesses, and family-friendly activities:

● Friday, Oct. 17 | 5 PM – 9 PM

● Saturday, Oct. 18 | 10 AM – 5 PM

This year’s lineup includes powerhouse performances from Tonya Boyd-Cannon, DJ Captain Charles, DJ RQ Away, Raj Smoove, and Where My Girls At? (DJ Legatron Prime + DJ Jess).

In addition to live music, festival-goers can explore:

● Local crafts, food, and small businesses

● Wellness offerings and children’s activities

● Panel talks and community resources

● The 10X Ride + Wellness Zone, presented with Get Up N’ Ride, featuring a 10-mile bike ride, yoga, and more.

“HomeFest is a homecoming,” said Dasjon Jordan, executive director of Broad Community Connections. “It celebrates the deep cultural roots of Bayou Road while investing in its future as a corridor of commerce and creativity.”
