New Urgent Care Center Opens in New Orleans East

Residents of New Orleans East now have a new option for non-emergency medical care as The Complete Care Urgent Center, founded by Dr, Calvin Williams and Dr. Cheryl Williams, is officially opening its doors to serve the community.

The grand opening of The Complete Care Urgent Center will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.  Saturday, April 18, at 8030 Crowder Blvd., Suite A. Community members are invited to attend the grand opening to tour the facility, meet the providers, and learn more about the services offered.

This new facility matters because for decades now – and especially since Hurricane Katrina – New Orleans East has had fewer healthcare options that other parts of the city despite accounting for 65 percent of its landmass. For years, New Orleans East Hospital has done the heavy lifting, serving as the East’s primary healthcare lifeline. This new urgent care signals an expansion of options for residents that have had too few for too long.

The Complete Care Urgent Center accepts all insurances. Services include treatment for upper respiratory infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), ear infections, wound infections, minor injuries and illnesses, and on-site testing for flu, strep throat, COVID-19, and RSV.

“Our mission is to ensure that families in New Orleans East have access to timely and reliable healthcare without the burden of long emergency room wait times,” said Dr. Calvin Williams, general surgeon and co-founder of the new urgent center. “This . . . is about meeting the needs of our community with excellence and compassion.”

This new facility aims to eliminate the long wait times often experienced in emergency rooms by providing efficient, high-quality care for urgent, non-life-threatening conditions. Staffed by a team consisting of an experienced general surgeon, allergist, and nurse practitioners, the clinic is equipped to handle a wide range of everyday health concerns.

“Most residents in New Orleans East have to leave the neighborhood to find an urgent care,” said Dr. Cheryl Williams, an allergist and co-founder. We wanted to change that by bringing quality, timely, and convenient care right here to the area.”
